Custom Buildings

 

In the 1940’s the metal building industry emerged providing factories, warehouses, distribution centers and like facilities requiring little or no aesthetically pleasing fascia or facade. Metal Building Systems soon became the preferred method of construction for "utility" type buildings where the main consideration was cost, speed of construction and efficiency.

Technological advances in products and materials, as well as the advent of modern engineering and design techniques, have led to the development of structural systems that are compatible with more traditional construction materials. Masonry, glass and wood exterior facades are often combined with a metal building system to meet the aesthetic requirements of potential customers while preserving the inherent advantages of metal building systems. As a result, the uses for metal building systems now include office buildings, showrooms, retail stores, banks, schools and other non-residential buildings for which aesthetics and architectural features are important considerations of the end user.

 During the late 70’s, the merger of exterior facades and designs with metal building systems brought about acceptance by the architectural community, lending even more credibility to the "Design/Build" concept.
